The time to walk out wholeness is now.
Not because you are an emotionless robot.
Not because the persons who wronged you apologized and made right what they had wronged.
Not because (s)he is at last finally aware of how you were impacted by his decisions.
Not because justice was served before your very eyes.
Not because you have sought compensation for the offense.
Not because the world feels right again and you FEEL ready.
My picky daughter recently told me she would begin eating vegetables once she was taller and stronger. But how, I asked, would she grow and develop muscles without eating those nutritious veggies?
We cannot wait for the state of our heart to change simply by the passage of time, or assume that we will be made whole once we are ‘stronger’ in our faith. That is backward! It’s how you and I handle these moments that will determine and develop our muscles as believers.
I’ll find wholeness when I’m clinging to God’s promise to heal, treating those that have done me wrong with love, choosing to build relationship where walls were once built up.
I’ll find wholeness as I invite Jesus into my struggles instead of shutting him out of shame or blame.
I’ll find wholeness when I’m taking intentional action to show grace (whether or not it’s been asked for).
I’ll find wholeness with a focus on Christ rather than my offender; when I realize that what might have been meant to eliminate me has instead been allowed by my God to elevate me.
I trust that I’ll be finding wholeness today as I intentionally walk this rocky path out. My honest, bright, fierce friends... I’m praying the COMPLETE love of Christ will meet you on this journey too.
With Fierce Love,
